	Double Y – Trendy décor and friendly service in the Place de Catalogne with stunning food (a free glass of Veuve Cliquot per person as an aperitif)
	La Galinette - 1 Michelin Star haute cuisine, trendy and reassuringly expensive (advisable to book well in advance)
Catalonian cuisine
	Featuring grilled seafood, duck, foie gras, beef and lamb dishes with exotic spices
	Le Gastro – Thierry, Nadine and team speak a little English and will offer you an aperitif or digestif of your choice compliments of the house along with their warm reception. Incredible foie gras specialities and generous helpings.
	Arago - located in Place Arago you can eat outside in good weather and enjoy local specialities. Good value.
Catalonian & Spanish cuisine including tapas
	Le France - Stunning location in ancient stock exchange building with gargoyles. Full range of dishes from meat through duck and seafood plus tapas and vegetarian options. Good for large groups.
Excellent seafood
	La Passarelle - excellent fish restaurant in quiet, classy surroundings. Iincludes amazing local oysters, crayfish, langoustine and lobster

	Café Vienne - located in Place Arago you can eat outside in good weather and enjoy incredible oysters and a full range of brasserie dishes
	Brasserie Vauban - On the Quai Vauban, you will find a range of innovative brasserie dishes served in classic French style and Art Nouveau surroundings.
Sushi restaurants and bars
	Omedeto - similar to « Yo Sushi » in the UK, with a revolving conveyor belt of fresh sushi dishes
Post-modern fusion and designer food
	Now in several new, hip restaurants
	Laurenso - run by Cedric who will offer you a complimentary aperitif or grappa or two. Amazing menu full of delicious surprises that will take your breath away. Highly innovative!
Indian, Chinese and Thai restaurants and takeaways
	Punjab - friendly owners who offer very tasty Punjabi (Indian) dishes overlooking the river by the Pont Joffre.
Italian cuisine
	Ranging from high-end classic Italian dishes to great pizzas.
Cuban and Tex-Mex
	La Habana - has a lively bar and serves Cuban style dishes with flair.

It is advisable to book a table at the trendier establishments as they are very popular with locals as well as tourists. It is possible to dine al fresco under the stars 9 months of the year, and dozens of restaurants have outdoor tables with wonderful views of the Basse river which runs through the centre of Perpignan, or balconies and courtyards.

There are also plenty of vegetarian options, compared with other French and Spanish regions. In summary, Perpignan is literally the place where you can eat your heart out with passion!

Dining by the Sea or in the Mountains

Collioure - We can recommend several fine restaurants in Collioure. The two that stand out as gourlet’s delights are:

Le Neptune - with fine views over Collioure harbor, Neptune is a top-end establishment with waiters in bow ties. The menu and wine list are superb.

La Balade - within view of the waves breaking below you, La Balade serves an excellent set menu as well as a la carte dishes. Good wine list and great service.

St Cyprien - one can experience fine dining at its best at 'L'Ile de La Lagune'. Pricey but worth it.

Toreilles - in the summer months try funky 'eating on the beach' at Toreilles with 'ZaZa'. Great food and atmosphere between early June and mid-September. Book a sofa under the stars for a larger group (6+) if you can.

Castelnou - In the mountains, 20 minutes for the Chateau, the 1 000 year old artists village of Castelnou hosts L'Hostal, which serves great local specialities such as a selection of Catalan meats (warm) or charcuterie (cold), alongside great seafood and traditional dishes.
